Home / All Bamwor Indexes / IBDI — Bamwor Digital Infrastructure Index What this index measures The Digital Infrastructure Index produces a composite score (0–100) reflecting a country’s digital readiness and connectivity. It combines three indicators: internet users as a percentage of the population (connectivity), electricity consumption per capita (infrastructure capacity), and GDP per capita (economic ability to invest in digital infrastructure). Countries with near-universal internet, high electricity availability, and strong economies score highest.
Methodology Internet users percentage is used directly (already 0–100 range). Electricity consumption is divided by population to get per-capita consumption, then log-transformed. GDP per capita is log-transformed. Each component is min-max normalized to 0–33.33, summed for a final score of 0–100.

Limitations Does not measure internet speed, mobile vs fixed broadband, or digital literacy. Electricity consumption per capita is a proxy for infrastructure reliability. Small wealthy nations may score disproportionately high.
